Sugar wax: instructions on how to wax at home with simple ingredients such as water, sugar and lemon.

There DIY waxing with sugar it is easy to use and prepare. For the sugar wax recipe you will need the following natural ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 cups of sugar

The proportions are simple to respect. In the preparation you must be very careful to remove any part of the pulp, skin or seeds of the lemon. Choose fresh, freshly pressed lemon juice; as far as sugar is concerned, the ideal would be to use white cane sugar.

Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan. Place the saucepan over high heat and cook for 4 - 5 minutes. During thecooking, stir continuously making sure that the bottom of the mixture does not overheat too much.

Sugar tends to burn so choose a very large spoon or spatula to mix. If you have a heavy stainless steel double bottom pan, use that! Avoid using thin pots, non-stick pans or thin pans precisely because the sugar tends to burn and needs to cook slowly.

If you don't have a proper pot, prepare it sugar wax on low heat, it will take longer but you will not risk burning the sugar.

When the mixture starts to boil timidly, soften the flame and let it cook for another 15 - 20 minutes. Prolonged cooking is necessary to obtain the right consistency: the finished product must not be excessively sticky otherwise it will be difficult to manage.

As you continue cooking, you will notice that the color of yoursugar waxit will migrate to a brownish hue. The photo above shows the color variation from the start of preparation to the end of cooking.

The color of the mixture after a slow and light boil lasting 20 minutes, should bevery dark amber. When you have reached this shade, remove yours DIY waxingfrom the heat and let it cool for 15 minutes.

During cooling, the sugar should appear even darker. If the compound is reddish it is not suitable for waxing. The mixture obtained must be flexible, easy to handle and not excessively sticky otherwise it will be impossible to manage!

The key to goodDIY waxing with sugar and lemonit is cooking, if you pay attention at this stage, the rest will be simple. But be careful not to overdo the opposite: overcooking could return a compound that is too hard and difficult to handle, in this case, however, nothing is lost: add a few drops of water and lemon and place the mixture in the microwave for 1 minute. Remove the mixture from the microwave and mix.

ThereDIY waxing with sugar and lemonit can be used only when it is completely cold or just warm.

Theresugar waxit is effective and if done correctly it prevents the formation of ingrown hairs and folliculitis. Unlike the classicwaxing, the sugar one does not dehydrate the skin but is much more delicate. It is free of side effects even if there is a precaution for use: you have to wax the sugar after carefully cleaning the skin.

Apply a layer of about 5 - 6 mm on the skin to be depilated, let it adhere well and remove thesugar waxpulling it off with the same hands. You will not need sticks to spread it or strips to pull it off: theDIY waxing with sugar and lemonit is managed with bare hands.

To get even smoother and softer skin, after DIY hair removal with thesugar wax, spend a few drops of sweet almond oil, famous for its moisturizing, emollient and nourishing properties for the skin.
