Homemade dry shampoo: here is the recipe for making a dry shampoo at home. A good and healthy alternative for those who need to clean their hair every day, but without washing it.

When we talk about hair care, among the advice we find that not to wash it too often; continuous washing can harm the scalp.

For many people, washing their hair regularly can be a must; those who work in laboratories, in the kitchen, in frying shops, those with too much greasy hair ...

The cosmetics industry has paid a lot of attention to this problem; for several years the market has been offering various solutions to cleanse oily hair without having to resort to water. This is the case of dry shampoo, a product available in various types to satisfy any type of need. It is undoubtedly a good alternative for those who need to clean their hair every day, but without washing it.

Dry shampoo is a real ally for hair beauty; ideal for those who like to take care of their hair without harming it. On this page we will show you how to make a dry shampoo at home with simple and harmless ingredients for the scalp. The do-it-yourself dry shampoo is a healthy remedy for the scalp, since its compounds and nutrients are able to rebalance the physiological pH and keep the activity of the sebaceous glands under control. It is ideal for fixing the hairstyle and volumizing the hair, giving a healthy, shiny and frizz-free appearance.

It is a shampoo that is free from substances harmful to the scalp. Indeed we are talking about a product rich in antifungal and antibacterial substances capable of creating a protective barrier against dandruff and other common hair problems.

It is particularly suitable for those suffering from oily hair but can be used for any type of hair; even on normal hair in those days when it is not possible to wash it with normal shampoo.

More types of dry shampoo are available at the supermarket and in shops specialized in hair care products, but many prefer to experiment with natural formulas, because they are healthier. As we have already mentioned, this do-it-yourself remedy is much cheaper and less aggressive; it does not contain strong chemicals and the ingredients are easily found on the market.

  • 50 grams of rice flour
  • 25 grams of baking soda
  • 8 drops of liquid coconut oil

  1. Pour the corn starch into the jar then add the rice flour and baking soda
  2. Shake the ingredients vigorously until a homogeneous mixture is obtained
  3. Add the coconut oil and the drops of mint essential oil and continue shaking.
Make sure the ingredients are homogeneous before applying the mixture to the hair. If you prefer, you can also decorate the barter or attach a label to it.

Peppermint essential oil, where to buy it

Peppermint essential oil is very common, so it is easy to find at shops specializing in the purchase and sale of natural products or herbal remedies. To get the best prices, you can take advantage of online purchases: on Amazon, a 30 ml bottle of 100% Pure and Organic Peppermint Essential Oil is offered at a price of 6.99 euros. The product in question holds the Organic Product certification of the Soil Association, a British authority equivalent to Ecocert.

Regardless of the product you choose, when it comes to the effectiveness of aromatherapy, a lot depends on the quality of the essential oil chosen. The active ingredients of essential oils are preserved only if the production process is followed with extreme care so as to respect the characteristics of each plant. For these reasons we advise you to buy only 100% pure and unadulterated essential oils.

How it is applied to the hair

  1. Stand in front of the mirror, separate your hair into sections and apply a small amount of dry shampoo to the entire scalp
  2. Use your fingers to massage the hair roots with the powder, practicing light circular movements to facilitate absorption
  3. Continue to apply the product until you reach the tips, always with moderate amounts, taking care that no excess residues remain in the hair
  4. Leave to act for 5/10 minutes
  5. After this time, use a brush to remove the product.

Result? You will immediately have fresher, softer and more grease-free hair. Moreover, thanks to the oils contained in it, you will feel a pleasant scent.
